Jeff Galloway – Running Until You’re 100

For those not familiar with Jeff Galloway, before Jeff became the official runDisney training consultant, he was a world-class athlete. Jeff competed at the 1972 Olympic Games in the 10,000-meter event. He also broke the U.S. 10-mile record in 1973. More importantly, Jeff has coached over 1 million everyday people to reach their goals as runners, walkers and competitors. His pursuit of an injury-free training program led him to design his Run-Walk-Run method.

Jeff Galloway’s book, Running Until You’re 100: A Guide to Lifelong Running, is a great guide for those looking to enjoy running well into their later years. The key is maintaining good health and nutrition, staying within your capabilities, and exercising regularly enough to maintain the adaptations you’ve achieved. To ensure you can keep running for years to come and have fun doing it, age-appropriate training is essential. As a bonus, Jeff Galloway’s Chief Training Officer will write a customized training schedule for each senior athlete to ensure everyone is training within their ability and are ready to perform their best in this year’s Oklahoma Senior Games!

Every year Jeff communicates with hundreds of people who pick up running after 60 – one of the fastest growing age divisions in many parts of the running world! He has even heard stories from a few runners in their 90s who still glow after each run – how amazing! So whether you’re just getting started or trying to stay active as you get older, know that this activity can give you years of joy if done correctly.
